Clear Lake Murders Solved

On Tuesday, July 25, 2006, the Houston Police Department Homicide Division held a press conference to announce the arrest and charging of Christine Paolilla and the charging of Christopher Snider in the July, 2003 murders of Rachel Koloroutis, Adelbert Sanchez, Tiffany Rowell, and Marcus Precela.

Christine Paolilla was arrested in San Antonio, Texas.  Christopher Snider was located in Greenville, South Carolina but escaped and committed suicide before he could be captured.

Crime Stoppers received two tips over a one-year span that led to the successful solving of this three-year-old brutal murder, and has paid the largest cash reward in Crime Stoppers history – a total of $100,000.  $5,000 came from the Crime Stoppers of Houston program, and $95,000 from the families of the victims.

Paolilla and Snider planned the attack to steal drugs and money, and shot the four teens to death before calmly walking away from the grisly scene.

The victims’ families expressed relief that the case was finally cleared, thanking Crime Stoppers and the tireless HPD Homicide detectives who jumped on the information provided by the Crime Stoppers tips.

Erik Garcia Murder Solved

On Thursday, June 8, 2006, around 3:45 p.m., 16-year-old Erik Garcia and a cousin were in the back yard of Erik’s home along a bayou in the 10500 block of Stover.  Four black teen-aged males came by, and Erik exchanged words with the oldest of them, who then accused Erik of making a racial slur.  That male pulled a pistol and fired several shots at Erik, striking him five times.  The suspects then fled down Stover Street and across a field toward Fuqua.  A Crime Stoppers tip led investigators to one of the suspects who was arrested and jailed for a separate offense.  Interrogation of this suspect led investigators to question the other members in the group, all of whom identified Lance Baxter Williams as the shooter.
