Crime Stoppers of Houston will host its Annual Golf Classic 2008 on April 7, 2008, at the beautiful Northgate Country Club. Teams will enjoy 18 of Northgate’s 27 holes, have the opportunity to play with a local celebrity, and play for top-team awards. Players will also have a chance to win a new car or boat on a special hole, purchase raffle tickets for a variety of great prizes, including airline tickets on Continental, and enjoy a fun day of golf while supporting a worthy cause.

     Crime Stoppers of Houston was started by a group of local businessmen with the cooperation and assistance of law enforcement agencies and the media. Since 1981, our mission in the Greater Houston area has been to solve and prevent serious crime in partnership with citizens, media, and the criminal justice system. Calls to the anonymous tip line and our cash reward program are responsible for the arrest and charging of over 20,000 felony suspects, including 331 capital murderers. Crime Stoppers makes our communities safer by taking felons out of our neighborhoods!

     Since its inception 8 years ago, our Safe School program has educated middle and high school students in 21 school districts about our anonymous crime tip line. The program gives students a way to report important information about crimes committed or planned by other students. The Safe School Program has solved more than 1,000 cases and has seized 60 guns from local campuses since it began.

     Crime Stoppers is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We rely on membership funds, grants, donations, and fundraising events, such as our Annual Golf Classic to fight crime in Houston. Through public support, Crime Stoppers of Houston is proud to be the number one program of its kind in the world. The Annual Golf Classic 2008 will allow team sponsors a “4th player option.” Sponsors have the opportunity for a local celebrity to join their team as the 4th player. If the option is not indicated on the registration form, the team sponsor may fill all 4 team player spot.
