Keeping Your Kids Safe

Cyber Safety
Learn actual and potential online threats along with tricks and tools predators use to lure even the savviest child. Hear about the consequences of cyberbullying and revealing too much. Obtain tips on how to keep up with evolving technology and preventing victimization. Houston area cases are used in conjunction with tools and information provided by the Center of Missing and Exploited Children.

Teen Dating Safety/Violence
One in three adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional and/or verbal abuse from a dating partner.  Victims experience higher rates of negative emotional and educational consequences.  Learn about setting boundaries & goals, content & coercion, identifying warning signs and discussion starters to use with your teen.   

Human Trafficking
26% of human trafficking victims are children, the average age of a trafficked victim is 13 and the majority are lured through coercion and false promises.  Discover what human trafficking looks like, prevention strategies and how to better protect your child.

Drugs & Alcohol (Underage Drinking)
In 2015, 30% of Houston area students reported that they had been offered, sold or given illegal drugs on school property.  Illegal drug use among Houston area students is double to triple the national average.  Receive tips and tools to help your child make better informed decisions.
